Sarà Burgas, città affacciata sul Mar Nero, a ospitare la 71ª edizione dell’Eurovision Song Contest. L’European Broadcasting Union (EBU) e la Bulgarian National Television (BNT) hanno annunciato ufficialmente la scelta, fissando l’appuntamento per maggio 2027. I tre Live Show si svolgeranno martedì 11, giovedì 13 e sabato 15 maggio, con la Grand Final in programma sabato 15 maggio e le due semifinali nelle serate dell’11 e del 13 maggio.
Il Contest sarà ospitato dall’Arena Burgas, il più recente impianto sportivo e per l’intrattenimento della Bulgaria, inaugurato nel 2023. Durante la Eurovision week, la città proporrà inoltre un programma di eventi dedicati, tra cui Eurovision Village, EuroClub e altre iniziative culturali e di intrattenimento, i cui dettagli saranno comunicati nei prossimi mesi.
La Bulgaria ospiterà per la prima volta nella sua storia l’Eurovision, dopo la vittoria conquistata da DARA all’edizione 2026 di Vienna con “Bangaranga”. Per scegliere la città ospitante è stato seguito un articolato processo che ha coinvolto inizialmente Burgas, Sofia, Varna e Plovdiv. Burgas e Sofia sono arrivate alla fase finale, con la città sul Mar Nero scelta per la combinazione tra infrastrutture, capacità ricettiva, collegamenti, caratteristiche tecniche dell’arena e impegno dell’amministrazione locale.
L’edizione 2027 coinvolgerà comunque l’intero Paese. Sofia, Plovdiv e Varna parteciperanno infatti al programma di attività collegato al Contest, contribuendo a trasformare l’evento in una celebrazione nazionale.
Burgas, quarta città più grande della Bulgaria, è conosciuta per le spiagge, i parchi, la vita culturale e gli eventi estivi. La sua posizione sul Mar Nero offrirà inoltre uno scenario particolare per il pubblico internazionale che raggiungerà il Paese. Secondo l’organizzazione, migliaia di artisti, delegazioni, giornalisti e fan arriveranno in città durante la manifestazione.
L’Eurovision rappresenterà anche un’importante opportunità economica e turistica. Le precedenti città ospitanti hanno registrato significativi benefici grazie all’evento: Liverpool ha ottenuto un impatto economico di 66 milioni di euro nel 2023, Malmö di 40 milioni nel 2024 e Basilea di 58 milioni nel 2025. Per Vienna, che ha ospitato l’edizione 2026, sono già stati registrati 88.000 visitatori aggiuntivi, 160.000 camere d’hotel vendute e un impatto economico stimato in 57 milioni di euro.
I biglietti per i sei Preview Show, previsti tra il 10 e il 15 maggio 2027, saranno disponibili successivamente. Burgas to host Eurovision Song Contest 2027
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Bulgarian National Television (BNT) are excited to reveal that Burgas has been selected to host the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in May 2027.
Bulgaria’s Black Sea city Burgas will welcome artists, delegations, fans, journalists and millions of viewers from around the world for three spectacular Live Shows on Tuesday 11 May, Thursday 13 May and Saturday 15 May 2027.
The Contest will be staged at Bulgaria’s newest sports and entertainment venue, Arena Burgas, which was opened in 2023.
A full schedule of activities will take place around the Contest in Burgas during Eurovision week. More details about Eurovision Village, EuroClub and the wider cultural and entertainment programme will be revealed in the coming weeks and months.
BNT and Burgas will host the Contest following DARA’s historic victory for Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna with “Bangaranga”, securing the country’s first-ever Eurovision win and bringing the Contest to Bulgaria for the first time.
The Grand Final of the 71st Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Saturday 15 May, with two Semi-Finals on Tuesday 11 and Thursday 13 May.
Fans will also have the chance to buy tickets for six further Preview Shows taking place between Monday 10 May and Saturday 15 May 2027. All those wishing to buy tickets must sign up to Eurofan, the official, free fanclub, to enter the sale when it begins. Further news on ticket sales will follow in the coming months.
EUROVISION BY THE BEACH IN BURGAS
Bulgaria’s 4th largest city is known for its beaches, parks, cultural life and vibrant summer events. The city has built a strong reputation for hosting music, arts and international cultural festivals, and its location will offer Eurovision fans a very unique setting for the world’s largest live music event.
Burgas was selected following a competitive Host City process involving four Bulgarian cities. A dedicated international working group comprising representatives of BNT and the EBU, together with international experts who have worked on the Eurovision Song Contest in recent years, reviewed the submitted documentation, visited the proposed venues, held additional meetings with the municipal teams and conducted numerous working sessions throughout the evaluation process.
The assessment examined the proposed venues, technical and production requirements, local infrastructure, accommodation, transport and the ability of each city to welcome the thousands of artists, delegations, production staff, journalists and fans who will travel to Bulgaria for the Contest.
Burgas and Sofia progressed to the final stage of the selection process following the initial bids, which included those from Varna and Plovdiv.
Burgas was ultimately selected for its strong overall proposition, combining the venue and technical potential required for the Eurovision Song Contest with accommodation capacity, transport and international connectivity, strong commitment from the municipality and a clear vision for transforming the entire city into part of the Eurovision experience.
BNT’s ambition is also for Eurovision Song Contest 2027 to be much more than an event taking place in a single city. Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna will also be involved in the accompanying programme, building on the enthusiasm, ideas and commitment they demonstrated throughout the process.

BOOST FOR BURGAS
The Eurovision Song Contest 2027 will bring thousands of international visitors to Burgas, alongside artists and delegations from participating public service broadcasters.
A full programme of public events and Eurovision activities will be developed in partnership with the City of Burgas, with further details about the Eurovision Village, EuroClub, Opening Ceremony and other events to be announced in the coming months.
Recent Host Cities have shown the powerful impact hosting the Eurovision Song Contest can have beyond the stage, with the event providing a platform to showcase the city and country to audiences around the world.
Liverpool saw a €66 million economic boost in 2023, Malmö €40 million in 2024 and Basel €58 million in 2025, with Basel also generating a reported €272 million boost for Switzerland nationally. Vienna is already seeing strong returns from the 2026 Contest, with 88,000 additional visitors to the city, 160,000 hotel rooms sold and an estimated €57 million economic boost.
